Getting rid of the 'Welcome to the Frontpage' title

When you install your template, in the frontpage above the article title you might see another title "Welcome to the frontpage". This is the page title. To change and hide it, in the joomla administrator area, go mouse over to the "Menus" menu item, top left of your joomla administrator area. Click on the Mainmenu (or the menu that is your active menu), then click on the "Home" item.
At the right, in the menu item parameters, go to the very bottom "Parameters(System)". There you can select to hide and to change the page title.
