I cannot install modules, components or upload images

In most of the clean Joomla installations you have to set permissions of some folders to 777, this is normally done through an FTP manager. Check the Joomla forums for more information.
If you have already set the permissions correctly, but still cannot install anything, then check your server as it might be set in 'Safe Mode'. Turn off the safe mode, and you're good to go.
